 The Confraria del Cava of Sant
Sadurní is an association
non-lucrative in order to divulge and promote the cava,
one of the products of our country that more prestige has
reached in the wine world market. Since 1979, the year that Confraria was founded has made possible with its initiatives and more than one thousand Cavallers Confrares (brotherhood's knights) that cava denomination was diffused around the world. It has been the result of the promotional effort of the association, which has contributed and nowadays contribute with effectiveness to the consolidation of the prestige of this wine of stars all over the world.  This generic promotion
of cava began at the same time that the Confraria was founded. The promotion
has taken an important impulse  because of the celebration of the First Week of Cava.
The objective was impulse the Cava inside and outside our country with
all kind of cultural, technical and festive events along the year. During
these years we have reached our aims with magnificients results, between
them it's important to emphasise in a special way the diffusion reached
in the main national and international mass media.The Council that is elected in the General Assembly manages the Confraria. The Main Council is another organ of the association that group together fourteen knights founders of the Confraria, the presidents, vice presidents of the Councils and also the Young Confrere that is in charge of the promotion and divulgation of the cava and his culture between young people. |

At international level, our Confraria is vice president of the International
Federation of Wine Brotherhoods, and we have organized the 41st Annual
Congress of the F.I.C.B., from the 27th to the 30th of may, 2004, that have
received more than 200 visitors from different places around the world.
