SPECIAL TRAIN TO
        CAVA COUNTRY

Friday, 12 October 2001 (Pilar holiday)

Leaves Sants station (BCN) at 9.00
Returns from Sant Sadurní station at 18.00

Cava, so rooted in our customs, is today enjoying a high level of acceptance both in Spain and abroad, with more and more people clamouring for our product. As a result, for the sixteenth consecutive year the Sant Sadurní Cava Guild has organised a Special Train to Cava Country for the purpose of taking people to visit Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, a town at the heart of Cava Country and home to the Cava Week celebrations, an event which will take place from 6 to 14 October 2001.

SCHEDULE FOR THE TRIP
The Special Train to Cava Country will leave Sants station in Barcelona at 9.00 on the morning of 12 October for Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and along the route it will stop at the stations in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Molins de Rei and Martorell. Throughout the journey the Batucada Tubarao del Brasil and Penya Riberenya d'Ascó bands will play music, and everyone will get a glass of cava.

The 16th Special Train to Cava Country can carry 1,000 passengers.

On arrival at Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the passengers will be greeted by the members of the Consell Capitular of the Sant Sadurní Cava Guild and the Geganters and Grallers from Poble Sec, the Geganters and Grallers from Anglès and the Geganters from Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. Then everyone will make their way to the plaça Manuel Raventós. All the cava cellars are open to the public and many of Cava Week's events coincide with the trip.

At 14.30, all the passengers from the Cava Train will have lunch in the Ateneu pavilion, with music from Els Àngels orchestra. At 18.00, the Special Train to Cava Country will set off on the return journey to Barcelona, and will stop off at the same stations as on the way to Sant Sadurní. The Guild will offer all Special Train passengers the opportunity to join them for dinner, washed down with cava, of course.

TICKETS
The price of the ticket for the dinner is 3,900 pesetas, and can be purchased together with the train ticket, which is free of charge, from any one of Caixa Penedès' 500 branches.
